Hi,

Most people knew about P2P sharing and might have used iMish, Kaaza, eMule, Limeware etc software for downloading things from other computers. The way this technique got popular has also made a lot of problems.

Torrents came in with one more better solution. Torrent is basically a protocol, in which the specific file is not copied from "one" computer rather it is being copied in chunks from number of online computers which increase its speed, reliability. you can read more about torrents here
CODE
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bittorrent

But, as usual, this again problem of having risk for getting "infected" files. For this reason number of sites came into existence ensuring the file being shared is "virus free" but required invitation so that you may join that sites. These sites has number of torrents like movies (DVD, xVID, AVI), Apps(Linux, Windows, Mac), Games(XBOX, PS, PC), Tutorial(Audio, Video, Ebooks) etc.

one of the popular site is

Here, you need to have maintain your ratio as well. What is ratio. It's the number of "bytes" you downloaded and number of "bytes" you uploaded. If you don't want to upload a thing "explicitly" then does not matter, keep your torrent software on and it will share the thing you have downloaded thus making your ratio up.

If any one of you need "invite" for this site, PM me with your mail id. i'll give it to you.

Meanwhile, i have login in following sites
http://www.bitspyder.net -- World's biggest Tutorial Sites
http://www.torrentleech.org -- One of the best for sharing miscellaneous things

No sooner i get invite for these site, i'll post here.

i really wanted to know about torrent

well, what else you wanted to know. You can read detail about the torrent in the link i provided (wikipedia link) and if you are interested for some invite then just pm me with your mail id.

One thing that i forgot to mention that you can use your torrents on Dial-Up as well, but i recommend either a cable or DSL connection, if you want to maintain ratio.

There are few other sites as well which are free for torrents no ratio restriction. But i am not posting those sites here for few reasons like those sites have number of spywares on it, some bad pop-ups etc.

when I had dial-up connectionm I was a frequent user of torrents (about 1 year ago). But jab say cable net lagaya hai torrent sirf aik dafa download kiya hai.. reason yai hai kay cable net par we are behind a proxy and a firewall, so not every torrent software is itna efficient kay wo is condition main kaam karay. or jo karte hain un par speed utni nahin aati jitni aik FREE environment main aati hai.

jab diel-up modem use karta tha main tab maine Bit-torrent ko use karte hue aik poori english movie download kar li thi , size:700MB. or yai downloading koi 1 1/2 say 2 months kay darmiyan hui thi poori. start, pause, start, pause hi chalta rehta tha raat ko.

yeah, there is problem in most of the clients. but i recomend using Azureus. It's cool!. I don't know much about CABLE connection (never used it) but i guess either the cable operator has block the ports or the sites from where you were downloading will be having some restriction or problem.

Pehle ek small torrent file download hoti hai then your torrent client opens that file, it acts as a link and its at this point that the real download begins.

and one more thing... if u cancel the download in ur torrent client the file will remain on ur system... e.g. m downloading a movie of 600 MB i stop n when it was downloaded 5% I delete the torrent on my torrent program, there will still be a file on my hard drive holding 600 MB (in the "new torrent" folder, can be found in options-> preferences -> download ) you wil have to delete it manually

Well torrent clients like have an option named "delete all or complete delete" which deletes all the files associated with the torrent

Loner Tech
