well AFA my knowledge concern i dun think that you can make your LAPTOP HDD slave .. the only possible thing is to connect it to other computer via LAN! .. dun know whether such thing exist or not.

to retrieve your lost data .. there are number of softwares. leme know if you NTFS or FAT32 partition.

Well buy an HDD Box and put your desktop drive into it, as thats the only way u can connect your desktop drive to your lappy coz a laptop drive is 2.5" whereas a desktop drive is 3.5" .For recovering files u can use 'Recover My Files' which I think I posted in this section also 1-think.gif

i hope that u lappy HDD will have SATA connectivity. If motherboard of desktop has also SATA connections, then simply turn on one SATA port (they are marked as 0 and I, and normally 0 is used for primary HDD (if already its using SATA HDD) and reboot ur computer.

last month my lappy was niether booting nor installing windows (windows was crashed and i dont know much about DOS), so i do the same, not only recovered all data,, but also installed windows, so try this one

for recovery i used a software shared by LT in HC,,, i think it was Active Recovery or something like that
