Salam to all mere laptop pe vista instal tah jub maine leya tah ab muje vista ko format kar k win xp karna mager vista format nahi ho raha hai maine 1st boot device b cd room rakha aur start mai yeh b hata hai prees any key boot from cd key press karne k baad set up chalta hai mager last mai yeh erorr hata hai k your hard disk is not active tu plzzzzzzzzzzz muje kohi yeh bata deh k mai vista ko format kaise karo
Use hiren's bootcd to format your hard disk and then go through the setup process as usual

Ok forget it coz its actually a problem of your SATA HDD can I have the complete config of your PC?
Ok well here's the real scenario actually vista has your SATA HDD drivers included but Xp hasn't got the drivers, so your only way is to create a custom cd of Xp with SATA drivers slipstreamed. If u don't wanna go through all this better stick with Vista and install 'Service Pack 1' which will drastically improve performance

I checked with windows update, and it says that no update is available, in update history,,, there are saveral installed updates of vista,,,, but i dont know,,, has it downloaded SP1 as well or not
It's an obvious thing MJB this one is redistributable package which can be installed on all PCs with Vista and can be slipstreamed to Vista DVD whereas the other one is for PCs with internet connection and non-redistributable version as its installed directly through windows update.
