AOA,

Well i have got my new lapi HP/Compaq 6720s, and firstly i have installed Win XP on it, and searched all compatible drivers for my lapi supporting win XP with SP-II,,,,

But then i installed Win XP with SP-III (through DVD), now all the drivers have been installed perfectly , but m unable to install the sound drivers, m continously receiving error message = THE HDA AUDIO BUS DRIVER IS REQUIRED AND NOT FOUND............

previously the same drivers were working very fine with WIN XP SP-2,,, can anybody help me regarding that....... thx

Well LT je, sorry,, i didnt read the name of that driver,,,,, well i have already tried this driver,,,,, its not working,,,, wot can be the issue, m unable to resolve that,,, seems to be problem with XP-III,,,, but on other laptops its working very fine,,, only problem is being faced on my lapi :( :( ,,,,same error HDA bus drivers are missing

what do u think that if he instal again SP-II and upgrade it to SP-III via regular window update

It doesn't matter how u install it, the problem will still be there

with SP-II,, the drivers will be loaded,,, and may be during updating through windows update,, it will only update things which will be required,,, excluding un-necessary things,,,, so he can get SP-III with the preloaded drivers

its very interesting thing,,, that science goes with logics, but u always find more exceptions than logics,,, what goes in a try

Ur forgetting one thing that the service pack version will be incremented and before installing it checks for compatibility, I know about this coz I have experienced the problem myself I was playing a game which was working fine on Sp2 but when I upgraded to Sp3 it just refused to start and for that reason only I had to uninstall Sp3 and anyways there is no point in upgrading to Sp3 coz its just all post Sp2 updates integrated into one pack, so installing all available updates for xp is same as installing Sp3

has SP-III released ,,, or its beta are available ??

Its in beta stages at the moment

so manu supports are to be incorprated yet

But there is one issue,,,,, on other laptops its working very fine,,,, only problem is with my laptop :( , might be due to different specs,,, as they have laptop with different company and specs,,,, and its working very fine,,,

so wot should i do , should i move back to win XP-SP2 :( :(

LT ,, can u give the technical answer of this issue,, i mean wot can be the technical reason, y it doest seem to be compatible with XP Sp III (Beta) , The drivers install successfully,,, but when i restart my lapi,, i dont find any sound drivers,, :(

Maybe Sp3 is beta, so its not really recognized as Sp3
