Nowadays-
Whenever I look into the mirror
A stranger looks back at me.
He seems to have
The same face
The same hair, the same build
The same characteristics.
But yet, it’s a stranger in the mirror.
Though sometimes it does seem
That I know him
That I have known him for long
Yet he is a stranger.
He beckons……
With wild and hypnotic gesticulations
Invites me to the other side
Of the glass barrier.
He promises me of infinite treasures
Happiness and bliss
On the other side.
Yet, I do not go
Nor do I answer his call.
Because I fear.
I fear that-
The stranger in the mirror
Might just be
Me.
