Information:

Lahore (Urdu: لاہور, Punjabi: لہور) is the capital of the province of Punjab, and the second most populated city in Pakistan, also known as the Gardens of the Mughals or City of Gardens, after the significant rich heritage of the Mughal Empire. It is located near the river Ravi and the Indian border, Wagah. It is popularly known as the “Heart of Pakistan”.

Due to Lahore's rich history, the Mughal and colonial architecture has still been preserved in all its splendour. Mughal architecture such as, the Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, Shalimar Gardens and the mausoleums of Jehangir and Nur Jehan are very popular tourist spots in the city. Various colonial buildings originally built by the British, such as the Lahore High Court, General Post Office (GPO) and many of the older universities still retain their Mughal-Gothic style.

Punjabi is the language of the province, and is the most widely spoken language in Lahore, although Urdu and English are becoming more popular with younger generations. Many people of Lahore who speak Punjabi are known as Lahori Punjabi due to a mixture of Punjabi and colloquial Urdu. According to the 2006 census, Lahore's population is expected to top 10 million. It is the second largest city in Pakistan, after Karachi. Lahore is the 5th largest city in South Asia and 23rd of the largest cities of the world.

In the past, Lahore was the melting pot of different culture, art and craft. Centuries later, not much has changed. The second largest city in Pakistan, Lahore is the educational, cultural and artistic capital of Pakistan. Once the capital of the Mughal Empire, Lahore bears the stamp of the Mughal architecture.

According to mythology Lahore traces its origin to the period of the Ramayana and to Loe, the son of Lord Rama, who believed to have founded the city, but history, traces the past of Lahore from the 8th century AD onwards. Lahore was under the rule of the Hindu ruler Lalitiditya in the 8th century, before the advent of the Muslim in the 11th century. In the 13th century, Lahore was completely destroyed when it became the target of Mongolian warriors, who were led by Genghis Khan. Lahore was at its peak during the Mughal rule in the medieval times and later; the city became an important political center during the fight for independence against the British.

Gardens and Parks

The Shalamar Gardens built by Emperor Shah JehanLahore is known as the City of Gardens. There were many gardens in Lahore during Mughal some of them were destroyed by course of history but many still survives till this day are the fine example of Mughal Gardens.

The Shalamar Gardens were laid out during the reign of Shah Jahan and mimic the Islamic paradise of the afterlife described in the Quran. The gardens follow the familiar char bagh model (four squares) with three descending terraces.

The Lawrence Gardens were established in 1862 and were originally named after Sir John Lawrence, late 19th century British Viceroy to India. The gardens were organized in an area covering 112 acres. The vow of the East India Company was that it would bring 80,000 saplings of 600 different species from every corner of the world, where in those days, the sun never set. After collecting money from the sale of Badami Bagh, the Soldier's Bazaar at Anarkali and from a grant by the "Company Bahadur”, the land was purchased in the year 1860.Today it is known as Lawrence Gardens

Chicago :

(IPA: /ʃɪˈkɑːgoʊ/) is the largest city by population in the state of Illinois and the American Midwest, United States. It is a dominant center of finance, industry and culture in the region. It is currently ranked as the third-most populous city in the United States after New York and Los Angeles, with a population of nearly 3 million people. The Chicago metropolitan area (commonly referred to as Chicagoland) has a population of over 9.7 million people in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana, making it also the third largest metropolitan area in the U.S. Adjacent to Lake Michigan, it is among the world's twenty-five largest urban areas by population, and rated an alpha world city by the World Cities Study Group at Loughborough University.
Often called the Windy City and the City of Broad Shoulders, Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837 after initially being founded in 1833 near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed. The city soon became a major transportation hub in North America and quickly became the transportation, financial and industrial center of the Midwest. Today the city's attractions bring 44.2 million visitors annually.
Chicago was once the capital of the railroad industry and until the 1960s the world's largest meatpacking facilities were at the Union Stock Yards; currently the city is home to the nation's second busiest airport, O'Hare International] Chicago became notorious worldwide for its violent gangsters in the 1920s, most notably Al Capone, and for the political corruption in one of the longest lasting political machines in the nation. The city has long been a stronghold of the Democratic Party and has been home to numerous influential politicians including the current presidential nominee, Barack Obama

"Karachi"

Here is brief description of Karachi:

Request:

(Karachi is shehar of Roshani, please leave it like that. Dont do anything to create problems for citizens of Karachi. I should people of Karachi should know that political parties are just using people to shine their politics.

Now if you go karachi, you need to be very careful specially about your mobile. Because people take mobile at gun point. Thats too bad.

I request to all the citizens of Karachi to make it peaceful and live togather with peace. It is City of Lights, but soon it will be City of Peace, love and friendship as well.)

Karachi (Urdu: كراچى, Sindhi: ڪراچي) is the capital of the province of Sindh, Karachi is the biggest city of Pakistan. Its population is more then one karor. It near the beach. Clifton is the best place to visit. There are many other places to view including some museums, parks, beaches, restaurants, shopping centres and much more. populated city in Pakistan. Located on the coast of the Arabian Sea, north-west of the Indus River Delta, the megacity is the financial and commercial centre as well as the largest port of the country. The metropolitan area along with its suburbs comprises the world's second most populated city, spread over 3,530 square kilometers. The city credits its growth to the mixed populations of economic and political migrants and refugees from different national, provincial, linguistic and religious origins who have largely come to settle here permanently. It is locally termed as the City of Lights (روشنیوں کا شہر) for its liveliness and the City of The Quaid (شہرِ قائد), for not only being both the birth and death place of Muhammad Ali Jinnah the founder of Pakistan but also his home after 1947. Residents and those born in the city are called "Karachiites".

The Baloch tribes from Balochistan and Makran established a small settlement of fishing communities, many of whom still inhabit sections of Sindh, and called it Kolachi. The modern port-city of Karachi, however, was developed by authorities of the British Raj in the 19th century. Upon the independence of Pakistan in 1948, the city was selected to become the national capital, and was settled by Muslim refugees from India, which radically expanded the city's population and transformed the demographics and economy. Karachi has faced major infrastructural and socio-economic challenges, but modern industries and businesses have developed in the city, and the population expanded even after the capital was moved to Islamabad in August 1960.

The area of Karachi has been known to the ancient Greeks by many names: Krokola, the place where Alexander the Great camped to prepare a fleet for Babylonia after his campaign in the Indus valley; 'Morontobara' port (probably the modern Manora Island near the Karachi harbour), from where Alexander's admiral Nearchus sailed for back home; and Barbarikon, a sea port of the Indo-Greek Bactrian kingdom. It was also known as the port of Debal to the Arabs, from where Muhammad bin Qasim led his conquering force into South Asia in 712 AD. According to the British historian Eliot, parts of city of Karachi and the island of Manora constituted the city of Debal.
