man has been created primarily to know what is good and to regulate his life accordingly. those who do not know, cannot be equal to those who know. Such persons are like a herd of goats, deaf, dumb, and blind, no better than the lowest of beasts. bcoz ilm is the prerogative of man, for he alone possesses the capbility of being virtuous. it not only distinguishes him from animals, but places him above angels who had to bow before Adam, bcoz Adam knew names of things which the angels did not know and in consequence of which Allah Pak was pleased to appoint him His vicegerent upon earth. The excellence of man is the excellence of the ilm he possesses, the superiority of which over everything else, especially over wealth, power .

ye kehna baja hai !that Islam is the path of “ilm". No other religion or ideology has so much emphasized the importance of ilm. In the Qur’an the word aim has occurred in 140 places, while al-ilm in 27. In all, the total number of verses in which ilm or its derivatives and associated words are used is 704. (kuch log pen, aur kitab k perhne ko he ilm samjhtey hein)The aids of ilm/knowledge such as book, pen, ink, etc. amount to almost the same number. Qalam occurs in two places, al Kitab in 230 verses, among which al-kitab for al-Quran occurs in 81 verses. Other words associated with writing occur in 319 verses. It is important to note that pen and book are essential to the acquisition of ilm.

ilm in the western world means information about something, divine or corporeal, while ilm is an all-embracing term covering theory, action and education. The Holy Quran has used many words to express ideas connected with “ilm” and each word has a shade of meaning different from the other. In Arabic language there are two words for gaining “ilm” or information.

1. Khabar
2. Naba

Khabar means information/ilm about common happening and Naba is information/ilm about some very important matter. For “recognition” the root-word is al-arf-‘u’ meaning sweet smell things that happen too often give us no alarm; they are routine happenings and we recognize them just as a matter of course. Irfan has in it the idea of succession, satisfaction and hence recognition. As compared to ilm this word is of a much lower import. An other word is sha’ur which is generally translated into English ‘consciousness’ intellectual moorings, philosophic thinking and abstract concepts were foreign to the Arabs to whom the Holy Quran made its first address. So they did not include these abstracts in sha’ur or consciousness. For them poetry was the highest form of expression for all delicacies, hidden secrets of the heart and fineness of wit and humour or even sacreasm.

ap ny jin lines ka zikar kiya hai.. un main writer confused nahi bilkul clear hai infact writer ny Hazrat Ali(A.S) sy mansoob aik quote ko use kiya hai jis main Hazrat ALi(A.S) farmatay hain k apni jahalat ka ilm hona aur us ko maan'na bhi ilm hai..

jb ap khud k La'ilm honay ko manain gey tu hi ap us la'ilm ko haasil karnay ki jastujuu karain gey na.. baat tu saaf aur wazeh hai...

app teak keh rahay ho but u didnt get me ! iss mein ek term missing hai writter dandi mar gaya hai daikho what i mean is that "k app la ilm hein" ye idraak app per kaise hota hai ? yahan mixing hai iss point ki n confusing kii again perho may be me ki baat samjh sako which i want to clerify,/wanna know ho sakta hai me at fault
