80-20 Rule
Try eating by the 80-20 rule. Eat a strict, healthful diet 80% of the time, and eat whatever you want the other 20%. Different strategies work for different people
Adjusting Calories
One problem with diets is when you go off the diet, you tend to return to your old eating habits. If you weigh 180 pounds and maintain that weight on 2700 calories/day, then you go down to 160 pounds by dieting, you can only eat 2400 calories/day to maintain your new weight.
Deter Night Time Eating
After you eat dinner, brush your teeth. You are not as likely to eat late at night with the feeling of freshly brushed teeth.
Eat by Volume
You may do better controlling your calories by eating food that has a high volume for its caloric content, and fills you up faster. This would be foods with a high amount of air, like puffed cereals or shakes you let blend a little longer
Eat Frequent Small Meals
Eating more often is recommended as one strategy for weight loss. Remember, when you decide to eat several meals throughout the day, that these should be smaller meals than if you´re just getting 3 squares
Eat Water-Filled Foods
Foods high in water content, like fruits and vegetables, will fill you up without adding many calories. Eat your veggies first
Eating Pizza
If you must eat pizza, make it veggie and pat the top with a paper towel when it´s warm to remove excess fat.
Green Tea
Consider green tea as your beverage of choice if you´re trying to lose weight. People given green tea extract burned more total and more fat calories than those given caffeine.
High Fiber Eating
High fiber foods fill you up with less calories. If you try high fiber eating, you will usually find yourself eating fruits, vegetables, and grains, and have less room for fatty meats and sweets
Small Meals
If you´re trying to lose weight, divide your food into several small meals throughout the day so you don´t get hungry.
Before Meal Exercise
Exercise before eating, even a 10 minute walk, can decrease your appetite.
Diet and Exercise Together
Exercise helps maintain muscle mass when you lose weight, so don´t think you have to lose weight by dieting before you start working out.
Fat Burning Range
If you´re trying to lose weight through exercise, the total number of calories is all that matters. Training at a lower intensity burns a higher percentage of fat calories, but the total number of calories burned for a given time period is higher at faster speeds.
Longer Workouts
Add 5 minutes to your regular workout each week for a month, and you will burn more calories easily
Rubber Suits
Don´t even think of exercising in a rubber suit or similar garment. It won´t melt off fat and is dangerous. Any weight loss you see afterward is because you´ve dehydrated yourself, and it will come back. Belts meant to take fat off your abdominal region are not so dangerous, but they don´t work either.
