Full Version: Thanks God
After patiently waiting and counting down the days,
At the shining moon I sit and gaze.
My mind asking me the same question ‘Do my eyes deceive?’
I pray not, trying hard to believe.
Believe- that this blissful month is really here,
Wiping away my dunya related problems and fear.
Bringing with it a bag full or blessings, chances and surprises for us all,
As we follow abidingly to Allah’s’ call.
There’s no word worthy of describing this sacred month of Ramadhan,
-Only one of the greatest gifts bestowed upon us by Ar-Rahman.
Almost thirty days in which we are and feel most closest to our Lord,
In no other month do our hearts rest so fully assured-
Than how peaceful we feel in the holy month of Ramadhan.
A month in which we strengthen our Imaan.
A month in which Allah has the Shaitaan chained up tight,
Eliminating all excuses for us to not do right.
A month of happiness, repentance, and forgiveness for all believers,
A chance for us to become real achievers.
Do more good deeds than ever before,
Turn our attentions towards the needy and poor.
Fast to feel the way they do,
Keeping in mind, that for them the feeling is there- their whole lives through.
Along with these boundless blessings comes Leyla-tul-Qadr,
The night of power for which I have been practicing sabar.
This month is what could save us all from entering the fire,
Or in Paradise, it may raise us a level higher.
As Ramadhan fly’s past I cry to see it end,
It feels as if I am losing a lifelong friend.
Next year, I will try harder and with the most sincere devotion I shall fast,
To be cleansed from the endless sins of my past.
Be it in the name of Allah-most merciful, most kind.
Thank you Allah for sending Ramadhan as mercy onto mankind.
